Drilling machinery is divided into two categories: rock drills and drilling rigs, with drilling rigs divided into open-pit drilling rigs and underground drilling rigs.
① Rock drill: used for drilling blast holes with a diameter of 20-100 millimeters and a depth of less than 20 meters in rocks of medium to hard or above. According to their different power, they can be divided into pneumatic, internal combustion, hydraulic, and electric rock drills, with pneumatic rock drills being the most widely used.
② Open pit drilling rig: According to the different working mechanisms for crushing ore and rock, it is divided into steel rope impact drilling rig, down hole drilling rig, rotary drilling rig, and rotary drilling rig. Due to its low efficiency, wire rope impact drills have gradually been replaced by other drills.
③ Underground drilling rig: When drilling underground blast holes with a diameter less than 150 millimeters, in addition to using a rock drill, small diameter down the hole drills with a diameter of 80-150 millimeters can also be used.
