Working Principle
Structural composition
Roadheader mainly consists of the following parts: an arm with a cutting head (or called a digging arm), a loading system (usually a conveyor belt), a mobile chassis (crawler system), and a hydraulic and electrical control system. The cutting head is its core component, which can efficiently cut rocks and other materials.
Flexibility and adaptability
Road boring machines can flexibly adjust the working angle and depth according to geological conditions and adapt to various complex construction environments. This makes it extremely advantageous in underground excavation and can complete tunnels of different shapes and sizes.
Cutting process
When working, the cutting head will contact the rock or other material and break it by rotating or reciprocating motion. The cutting head is usually equipped with wear-resistant cutting tools, such as tungsten carbide cutter heads, to cope with hard strata.
Loading and transportation
The cut rocks or materials will be immediately collected by the loading system and transported to the appropriate location or transportation equipment, reducing the need for secondary processing and improving work efficiency.
